Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is one of the fastest-growing areas in security technology as there is a need to reduce casualties and deaths. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems is a family of security systems designed to work together to build equipment and improve vehicle safety. Other features of driver assistance programs include custom cruise control, crash prevention systems, hands-free mobile access, automatic braking, and GPS / traffic data integration.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is useful not only for private car owners but also for a variety of vehicle vessels such as trucking ships, delivery ships, taxicabs, and business ships. The most commonly used ADAS systems include parking assistance systems. Parking aids usually use ultrasonic sensors mounted on the front and rear bumpers of the vehicle. In order to work, the new ADAS incorporates a range of technologies. Essentially, each device consists of at least one sensor for monitoring the parameters and relaying, where necessary, the information which is then processed and analyzed until, if necessary, sending a command either to alert the driver or to interfere or assist in the control of the vehicle, by braking or steering, for analysis. Sensor technology is the main driver of the production of ADAS. The ADAS and autonomous driving functions feed off a continuous stream of information about the world surrounding the car, and it is the responsibility of the sensors to do so.

Another example of ADAS is Radar. Radar may be the best-recognized of all technologies currently used for ADAS sensors. The ADAS applications for Radar can be classified into three categories, short-range, mid-range, and long-range. The key advantage of these technologies is the ability to function it in even in the poor weather, heavy rain, snow and fog, and at night. Its limitation is radar is unable to make sufficient resolution to identify the object.

Other factors that need to be learned are ECU and MCU. Electric Control Units (ECUs) and Microcontroller Units (MCUs) are essential to many ADAS systems, including self-driving. In order to develop ADAS, processors need better performance that can be provided by multi-core and high bandwidth, as well as low power consumption requirements. They gather information about the area around them, such as pedestrians and oncoming traffic. Most have a limited measurement range and signal bandwidth, making it difficult to distinguish between “signal” (eg roadblocks) and “audio” devices. It is especially difficult for the senses to find things moving under the right natural conditions, such as rain and fog. Many industry players want to improve their individual senses. They also try to improve the efficiency of the system by using better sensor integration – a consistent combination of data from multiple sensors. On the hardware side, intersensor communication is a big challenge because it requires high bandwidth and solutions to avoid overloading the network.

ADAS applications could represent the next critical business opportunity in the automotive industry, and semiconductor companies are well-positioned to take over.
